Congratulations, fox, with the willingness to change. Cuz that's not self-evident at all.
Don't know about your "shooting in multiple directions". Sure, you hit something.

And what you say about making friends and all, that's not only your own logic but that of many others. It goes even further than just friends, it has to do with all OTHERs. And the most active and rewarding attitude towards others is facing them; looking at them, hearing, listening, responding, in short being interested, being curious, being focused. It's only via "the other" that you can truly understand, grow, develop, change and learn about yourself.
"The other" just holds a mirror so-to-speak, a reflection of yourself. You don't like the image you see, don't blame the other.
In this time of ego, greed, illusion and shamelessness, "the other" sadly is just there to be blamed and (ab)used.
So I'd say, don't fear what you're gonna see in the mirror, but be grateful for the imperfections "the other" shows you.

With that in mind, I too wish you happy christmas holidays and an exciting new year!

My life is changing, I am making things happen in order to bring that change. Shooting in multiple directions I am aiming for the "grenade in the lake" effect: after the blast something WILL HAVE to surface.
I sure hope things can work out for the best -- God knows I need it.

I may not be able to get in touch with anybody for a while, and with Christmas nearing I want to wish you all a great time with your loved ones. Spend these days with the people you love and care about.

And if you have nobody you ought to do something to change that, instead of waiting for it to change by itself. Smile more. Make new friends. Get out and go places.

Friends are especially important. When you want things to change, the first step towards the right direction is to make new friends. They will open new possibilities for you, and bring even more friends, which in turn open even more new possibilities -- My logic is flawless.
Even I, at my age, can still change things about -- and so can you.
Do no wish it. Do want it. Then do it!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everybody! :-)
