How to create and run a hat?
THIS GUIDE IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION AND UNFINISHED, please contact Ronnie|Slayer to contribute to this.
This guide will teach you how to properly create and run a Rage of Mages 2 hat with several servers.
Requirements:
- PC, with windows 98(se) or XP, and at least 512 mb memory
- Broadband internet connection.
- Firewall or router.
- Hamachi (optional).
- Webserver (Apache) with PHP and MySQL.
- Hat program by ex-lend, version x or up.
- Server prorgam.
- Server auto-restart script by unknown.
- Hexeditor (optional).
Settings up a webserver
- Nival's hat software won't work behind a router, ex-lends program does.- Install xampp or appserv (link to tutorial).
- What dir to install hat and servers in, rom2 map, seperate map, or webserver map?
- Static IP address or for dynamic IP address use a service such as dyndns.org
- Explain how to get your IP (whatsmyip.com orso) and that you can't test your own Hat (can't connect to your ISP IP from same connection).
Settings up the hat and servers
- Explain why to use ex-lends program and explain fixes (gm hack, other hacks, crashes, etc.).- Explain how to config everything.
- Explain what's the best setting for a hat (shops? churches? rules? max body? etc.).
Creating an automatic account creation script for your website
- Give source to a php script to create accounts and to stats script.- Explain how to run it..
Announcing your Hat
- Add to this website.- Ask Ronnie|Slayer to run a status/account creation script via this website (optional and under construction).
