| Crud. I just realized I copy/pasted the wrong URL to the archive of Exlend's original web pages in my previous email. It should have been: https://web.archive.org/web/20100427022539/http://allods.homeunix.org:80/article_a1_nocd.php Sorry about that. Notepad will not work. That's a text editor. What you need is a hex editor (as in hexadecimal). Do a Google search for "free hex editor" and find one (preferrably a legitimately FREEware one). I personally use HxD, but there are plenty of other legitimate freeware hex editors out there to choose from. I also prefer doing all my own hex edits rather than downloading any patchers or already patched files because that way I know I'm not also getting some stinking computer virus hitching a ride on the downloaded files that will infect my computer. |

| If you have access to and know how to use a hex editor, you can patch your own game using the information from Exlend's archived site: http://allods.homeunix.org:80/article_a1_nocd.php In case you can't view this site for whatever reason....I'll copy/paste the info to this forum thread too: RoM I NOCD patch Author: Vladimir Chebotarev aka ex-lend ++++++++++++++++++ You should copy the following resource files to the game folder: video4.res video8.res music.res for rom.exe v1.0 000702A8: 00 01 00070309: 00 01 00070322: 00 01 00070426: 33 B0 00070427: C0 01 00070428: A3 A2 0007042D: A3 A2 0007ACB0: 00 01 In case you don't know how to read Exlend's info format.... each line is three pieces of info: 1) the file offset 2) the hex value you will already find there 3) the hex value you should edit in place of what was already there Make these changes to your rom1.exe file and save the edited file. You should now be able to play the game without a CD in the drive. As always, make a copy of your original files BEFORE editing them in case something goes wrong or gets corrupted....so you can always refresh back to the file's original state. |

| i just came back to the game after 12 years, i lost my originals cds rom1 and rom2, :(.. i downloaded a version of rom1 but i cant multiplayer SOLO, an error pops up and crash the game every time... it says "no CD detected changing to multiplayer" and crash the game, need a patch or something please help. | ||||
