Thanks NOVA. I was looking for source code and/or documents describing the format, but all good. Thanks anyway! | ||||

This may not be of any use for your stated task, but there are a few existing utilities that allow you to work with the Rage of Mages (Allods) .RES files. They've moved around over the years with web sites coming and going. But you can currently find these files at: http://allods2.eu/en/files/ Good luck, NOVA |

Hi friends, is there any documentation on the RES file format? It doesn't seem to be the same as the Windows 32 Resource format (I've tried a few programs that operate on Win32 RES files and they don't seem to be able to decode the ROM RES files). I want to write a decoder in Go to extract the graphics and sounds so I can experiment with Go and SDL. By the way, I created a similar decoder for the sprites in the 1998 game Warhammer: Dark Omen (see https://github.com/jonathaningram/dark-omen) Thanks, Jon |
